Mount Vernon, WA

EB at Anacortes
Edward and the family finally arrived in Mount Vernon. Since they got to town things have been so busy that he hasn't had much time to think. Today Edward and Emmala went to the beach at Anacortes, where Edward visited before Emmala was born. They had fun throwing rocks into the ocean and finding special rocks. Mount Vernon is a very beautiful place with a great big mountain, Mount Baker, rising to the east of town. There are lots of little mountains around as well and the city is very hilly. The campground is near downtown, by the Skagit River. There are lots of beautiful trees and the campground is quiet and nice.

Edward is looking forward to tomorrow when Elliot and perhaps Emmala too will come for a sleep over at the camper. Edward always loves sleepovers with Elliot. Sometimes he even brings one of his bears to play with Edward.

It is a fun visit to a fun place with lots of fun people. Edward is having a ball

After being in hibernation all winter, the last two days have been a whirlwind for Edward. Yesterday was 396.1 miles. Today the camper traveled 555.2 miles. AND, when Edward looks out when they stopped for the night it was a place that he had been before! They are in a nice community campground right by the water in Coulee City, Washington. It is very quiet here even though it is close to the highway because the highway isn't very busy. On a Monday in the middle of May the campground is nearly empty. The campground host, one other camper and Edward's camper is all that are in the campground tonight. And there are no boats in the marina yet. Edward guesses that the people in Washington just don't want to go boating when it is a little bit chilly outside. No worries. They'll come soon enough.

Edward is VERY excited. Just one more sleep and he will be at Elliot and Emmala's house. He will make it in time to be there when Elliot gets home from school. YAY!

Finally! Another winter's hibernation is over. Edward was so excited to see the camper being prepared for a trip, and from the looks of the preparations, this was going to be a long trip. The first leg of the journey, about 400 miles, was to a familiar place. Edward found himself by the river in Big Timber. In the morning he heard the lambs out in the pasture and was eager to explore. Lois, who lives at the river, takes care of little lambs each spring, feeding them from bottles and making sure that they grow healthy and strong. The lambs are really cute and they were hungry when Edward went to explore, so they were making all kinds of noise, hoping that their breakfast was soon to come. The place by the river is looking good and Edward was eager to explore, but there are more miles to make today. Edward is hearing of going to a new place in Washington, though his first really big trip was to Washington and he is familiar with that state. It will be fun to see where the adventure takes him.
