Garrison, North Dakota

Truck and Campeer
There was a lot of hustle and bustle around the camper during the last two weeks. It was scrubbed from top to bottom and waxed by hand until the outside shown. Then supplies were loaded and clothes brought in. The refrigerator was filled with groceries. Early in the morning on Thursday, Juen 13, the truck was hooked onto the trailer and off the whole gang went, heading north and east. By lunch time the trailer was near the northern border of South Dakota, stopping for lunch at Shadehill Dam. The trailer rode well even though it was a windy day. Edward Bear was excited to be off on another adventure.

Lake Sakakawea
In the early evening they set up camp at Fort Stevenson State Park along the shores of Lake Sakakawea in the center of North Dakota. The sunset over the water was beautiful. The camper stayed in the campground for two nights with plenty of coming and going. On Friday Ted and Susan got all dressed up for a funeral and a while later they came back and changed their clothes for more informal activities. Friday night they returned to the camper late with stories of a sailboat that had run aground in the lake.

Sailboat aground
The trip home was uneventful. Lunch was eaten at Faith, South Dakota and the camper was back in the yard by 3:30 in the afternoon.
